About OpenJKDF2

OpenJKDF2 is an open-source re-implementation of “Jedi Knight™: Dark Forces II” (JKDF2).

OpenJKDF2 removes the hassle of rendering and input compatibility shims, while also

providing in-app guided installation steps, cross-platform multiplayer, and a host

of graphical (and other) improvements.

“Jedi Knight™: Dark Forces II” is Copyright © Lucasfilm Ltd. 1997-2009.

An original “Jedi Knight™: Dark Forces II” game disk, or original licensed assets from Steam or GOG, are required in order to play OpenJKDF2.

How to install OpenJKDF2

  1. Click Download — the developer's official website opens in a new tab.
  2. Download the latest version there and run it. Choose Custom/Advanced where offered, and skip any bundled extras.
  3. Prefer the command line? With Flatpak you can install and update it with: flatpak install flathub org.openjkdf2.OpenJKDF2
  4. Open OpenJKDF2 once it finishes installing.
