About Speak
Speak is a talking face. Anything you type will be spoken aloud using a speech synthesizer. You can adjust the accent, rate and pitch of the voice as well as the shape of the eyes and mouth. This is a great way to experiment with a speech synthesizer, learn to type or just have fun making a funny face.
How to install Speak
- Click Download — the developer's official website opens in a new tab.
- Download the latest version there and run it. Choose Custom/Advanced where offered, and skip any bundled extras.
- Prefer the command line? With Flatpak you can install and update it with: flatpak install flathub org.sugarlabs.Speak
- Open Speak once it finishes installing.

Is Speak free to download?
Yes. The Download button sends you to flathub.org, the developer's official site, where Speak is available to download. Flatnic doesn't host or modify any files.
How do I install Speak from the command line?
With Flatpak, run: flatpak install flathub org.sugarlabs.Speak. This installs it from the official source and keeps it updated.
Is Speak safe?
