About Mercurygram
Mercurygram Desktop is an unofficial, privacy and security focused fork of Telegram Desktop. It is the desktop counterpart of the Mercurygram Android client, built by rebasing Mercurygram patches on top of upstream Telegram Desktop.
It connects to the regular Telegram network over the MTProto protocol while adding extra privacy and anti-tracking mitigations on top of the upstream client.
Its headline feature is support for end-to-end encrypted secret chats on the desktop — something the official Telegram Desktop client and most other desktop forks do not offer.
Mercurygram is not affiliated with or endorsed by Telegram FZ-LLC. Builds are signed with Mercurygram's own update keys and the in-app updater points at the Mercurygram release server. Please report Mercurygram issues to the Mercurygram project, not to upstream Telegram.
As a Telegram client it offers the familiar messaging experience:
Messages, chats, groups and channels stay synced across all your devices, with the client running standalone without needing your phone connected.
Send and receive media and files of any type, with chat history stored in the Telegram cloud.
Group chats and channels, bots, photo and video editing, animated stickers, emoji and customizable themes.
How to install Mercurygram
- Click Download — the developer's official website opens in a new tab.
- Download the latest version there and run it. Choose Custom/Advanced where offered, and skip any bundled extras.
- Prefer the command line? With Flatpak you can install and update it with: flatpak install flathub it.belloworld.mercurygram
- Open Mercurygram once it finishes installing.

Is Mercurygram free to download?
Yes. The Download button sends you to flathub.org, the developer's official site, where Mercurygram is available to download. Flatnic doesn't host or modify any files.
How do I install Mercurygram from the command line?
With Flatpak, run: flatpak install flathub it.belloworld.mercurygram. This installs it from the official source and keeps it updated.
Is Mercurygram safe?
Mercurygram downloads directly from the developer. As always, scan the installer with your antivirus and choose Custom setup to skip any bundled extras.
