About AusweisApp
The AusweisApp is a software, that you can install on your Computer/Smartphone/Tablet, to identify yourself online with your ID card or your electronic residence permit.
The App is availible for the most used operating systems and works in all common browsers.
The AusweisApp offers you an intigrated self-assessment where you are able to view your data that is stored on the online ID.
In the app you will also find an overview with the available services, a running overview and you can manage your PIN there.
This app is on behalf of the Federal Office for Information Security.
How to install AusweisApp
- Click Download — the developer's official website opens in a new tab.
- Download the latest version there and run it. Choose Custom/Advanced where offered, and skip any bundled extras.
- Prefer the command line? With Flatpak you can install and update it with: flatpak install flathub de.bund.ausweisapp.ausweisapp2
- Open AusweisApp once it finishes installing.

Is AusweisApp free to download?
Yes. The Download button sends you to flathub.org, the developer's official site, where AusweisApp is available to download. Flatnic doesn't host or modify any files.
How do I install AusweisApp from the command line?
